- Porchetta with pistachios, almonds and honey - Stuffed suckling pig
Updated on 07/15/2021
Porchetta is made from a suckling pig that is boned and then stuffed with meat from the belly, tied up and slowly roasted until the skin is crispy. Ours is flavoured with pistachios, almonds, fennel and honey - typical herbs of our Gargano region. The origin of Porchetta dates back to the 15th century and takes us to the heart of central Italy. It is a traditional culinary speciality in many regions of Dante's country. It is often eaten as a panini, at merenda time ("snack time" in Italian) in Italian farming areas. It can also be pan-fried, with a drizzle of olio di serra, a touch of garlic and a little fennel or tomato. Porchetta should be eaten the same day it is purchased. Try it, you will be surprised by its aroma, texture and richness of flavour! Porchetta is gluten-free and is available in vacuum-packed pieces of about 3,5 kg at a price of €19.00 per kilo.
