"Mel do Parque" is a multi-flower mountain honey, produced in Montesinho Park, located in the region of Bragança, northeast of Portugal. The Multi-flower honey with predominance of Heathers, Rosemary and Chestnut, along with the following representative species from the regional flora: Arbutus; Cistus Ladanifer; Echium; Rosemary; Cork-oak and holm-oak; Silva; Willow; Thyme and Clovers. Taste - Strong, persistent with a well-balanced combination between the sweet, the salty and the bitter. Aroma - A profile of complex aromas, with floral and fruity expressions; combined by dry woods and a soft caramel taste that holds the aromas. The finish is persistent and long. Tact - Soft, sensation of “fine crystals” due to the natural and slow crystallization, which may lead, during the heather predominance, to a sensation of astringency in the mouth. Colour - This “Mel do Parque” has an accentuated dark color (above 7 on the Pfund scale) and is located in the spectrum of amber (golden to dark), bright, clear and with greenish and red nuances. Certification - The honey of Montesinho Park - DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) is certified by Tradition and Quality – Interbranch Association for the Agri-Food Products of Trás-os-Montes. The MPB (Organic Production Method) control of “Mel do Parque” of Montesinho is under the responsibility of SATIVA - Control and Certification (PT BIO 003). The Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) is registered and protected by the Regulation (CE) Nº 1107/96 of 12.06.
