The history of nunshen comes from the passion of a real tea connoisseur who wanted to bring the craft of tea to the heart of today’s lives.
It all started in Switzerland, in a small historic tea shop opened in 1938 in a renowned area for its tea and coffee merchants.
Acquired in 2003 by Olivier, and established in France since 2014, the brand works with Carine Baudry, world renowned tea expert, who visits during the entire year, plantations around the world in order to strengthen relationships with our farmers. By combining centuries-old traditions with expertise, passion and a resolutely contemporary taste, nunshen supports big names in gastronomy and hospitality in the selection, training and implementation of their tea offer.
Green Tea - Christmas Tea 25
A beautiful green tea with a spicy, fresh and delicious bouquet. The balance between star anise, cinnamon and cloves immediately transports you to the Christmas markets. The hint of bitter orange zest, pink berry and fennel add richness and subtlety to this tea. This tea will be able to accompany either for the pleasure of tasting and for its digestive virtues. Virtues so precious during this festive period.
Green Tea - Vallée du Nil 88
A light, floral green tea with jasmine and bergamot notes. Close your eyes and take a trip down the River Nile with this blend of fragrant jasmine flowers, delicate rose petals and zesty bergamot rind. Inspired by the adventures of Agatha Christie, this gentle green tea is aromatic, smooth and refreshing and can be enjoyed throughout the day, late into the evening or whenever you need to float off and dream.
Black Tea - Jasbire Awakening 182
A rich black tea with notes of leather, wood and fruits. High in the hills of Nepal, 1839m above sea level, the small farmer run estate of Jasbire produces some of Nepal’s finest tea. From plucking the golden buds of this harvest to packing them, a handful of highly skilled women are responsible for making this tea that, to us, is an elegant assault on the senses. Deep notes of leather, wooded groves and a hint of spice are balanced with stewed fruits and delicate flowers. Rich and complex, refreshing yet robust in depth, this small batch production is made with pure love - love that you can truly taste.
Compagnie Coloniale has been famous for its high quality teas for almost two centuries.
The reason for our excellent reputation is that we only select the very best teas from around the world in order to guarantee the utmost quality and a taste beyond compare. From picking and selecting the best leaves, to the flavouring and packaging of our teas, we strive to provide quality products and achieve technical excellence. Compagnie Coloniale is the only French tea company to use the artisanal steam process, thereby ensuring that our teas have an aromatic nose and taste out of this world.
