A family-owned pepper and spice organic farm in Cambodia
Like any agricultural project, our project is built with long term objectives. It has been incepted on Fair Trade principles, from our partners to our employees to benefit our rural community. We work with international importers and distributors who share our values. Together, we are committed to offering the freshest spices at the fairest price, for the producer and the consumer.
Within La Plantation, we built a production plant which allows us to process and package the spices immediately after their harvest. This freshness is an essential guarantee of the quality of the spices we produce.
The production site provides a controlled environment with trained teams, ensuring compliance with international standards in terms of hygiene and food safety. The spices are tested by international laboratories before being distributed.
Quality is the foundation of our project. Processing and packaging of our spices, immediately after their harvest, guarantee their freshness and the preservation of their aromas. La Plantation is proud to highlight the expertise of rural communities in Cambodia, who produce high quality spices, and to promote them on the international market.
The history of Kampot Pepper is intimately linked to that of Cambodia and the Kampot region. The first plantations were established in the Kampot region by Chinese from Hainan, from the 13th century. Today, cultivation, harvesting and selection are still done by hand to preserve the unique taste of the best pepper in the world.
In collaboration with the Kampot Pepper Promotion Association, we are working to improve traceability and eliminate counterfeit Kampot Pepper at the source. We inform and train our distributors and importers on the challenges of the sector.
La Plantation develops a strong social and societal responsibility in the Kampot region
We offer good working conditions to our employees and train them to develop their skills. We help independent farmers improve their quality of life.
Building futures also means making our children grow up by providing them with a good quality education
Les écoles de la Plantation’s 1st Mission is to offer a great primary education to the children from our village.
However, our End Goal is to send them to a successful secondary education, through high school and university, towards a sustainable profession.

Butterfly Pea FlowersLA PLANTATION
The infusion of Butterfly Pea flowers reveals sweet taste with fine sesame notes. This infusion is remarkable for its unique blue color. Butterfly Pea is a plant whose infused flowers have a natural blue or pink coloring (with a few drops of lemon). Appreciated for its delicate taste and its benefits, it is also ideal in cooking and in the preparation of cocktails. Enchantment guaranteed! Our Butterfly Pea Flowers are harvested by hand, selected and cleaned as quickly as possible before being dehydrated at low temperature. This manufacturing process allows all the aromas to be preserved, thus guaranteeing you a high quality product!
Highly concentrated in curcumin, La Plantation turmeric develops a unique scented, peppery and warm flavor with a sweet scent close to orange and ginger. La Plantation turmeric is so exceptional, thanks to its curcumin rate (close to 10%), its aroma and taste that we decided to call it "Flower of turmeric". It comes from a special species that grows in Cambodia, with a very small root size and low productivity per hectare. It is grown organically, without any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The harvesting of Turmeric roots and the production are done by hand: sorting the roots, removing small rootlets, then cleaning with water, peeling and scalding. The roots are then sliced and dried in a solar greenhouse for 4 days. Once dry, the turmeric chips are ground into powder. Long used as a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant in Chinese and Indian medicine, it brings exceptional health benefits. Main ingredient of curry, it is also mixed in juice, smoothies or deliciously flavors soups, risottos, fish and many dishes. You can eat it every day mixed with honey and Black Kampot Pepper (pepper helps absorption of curcumin by the body). A tablespoon of this elixir every morning and you will be in good health.
Black Kampot Pepper PGILA PLANTATION
BLACK KAMPOT PEPPER, AN ARTISANAL PEPPER OF ANCESTRAL TRADITION Recognized as one of the best peppers in the world, Kampot's Black Pepper is grown traditionally and organically. Each corn has been selected one by one by hand at La Plantation to offer you the best quality. From the end of February and during the three-month harvest period, La Plantation is in full effervescence. Our farmers receive the help of daily labor to select and pick the clusters of pepper, one by one. Only mature pepper clusters with corns of a beautiful dark green color are picked. The others are left on the pepper tree and will be harvested during a next passage of the harvest team on this plot. The harvest of the day is processed the same day. The pepper clusters are threshed, then the corns are selected, washed and blanched. They are laid and sun-dried for 2 to 3 days, depending on the sunshine. This natural drying phase strengthens the peculiar taste and aroma of Kampot Pepper. The corns are processed and selected by hand by their density and size which, according to the rules of the PGI, must be greater than 4 millimeters. Only the large corns of pepper, of a beautiful dark black color, are sold under the name Kampot Pepper. Black Kampot Pepper develops strong and delicate aromas. Its intense but sweet taste reveals resinous, eucalyptus and fresh mint notes. Black Kampot Pepper is the spiciest of the family and the only one that we recommend to use for cooking your hot dishes and soups. Freshly ground, it is perfectly suited for grilled beef or salad.

Fanny and her husband Stéphane Boutarin, a farmer and garlic producer, have put their know-how and skills at the service of the same desire: to promote garlic and make people discover its many flavours!
It is by combining the tradition of agricultural production of PGI white garlic from the Drôme and innovation through the transformation of this condiment into black garlic that they are realizing this goal.
Black garlic is made from a PGI white garlic from Drôme, thanks to a process developed by Fanny. Maison Boutarin black garlic has a delicate taste with aromas of candied fruit, undergrowth and balsamic vinegar and a melting texture. But to surprise the taste buds, Maison Boutarin also produces and offers other surprising varieties of garlic!
Stéphane produces PGI white garlic from Drôme, which has a slightly milder taste. Elephant garlic allows to diversify the range of flavours. This garlic has large cloves and a delicate taste close to leek. A multitude of flavours to surprise your taste buds!
